CDS Exam or Combined Defence Service Test is an exam conducted twice annually by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). It’s an exam to induct officers into the Indian Defence Forces i.e. the Army and the Airforce.
A Combined Defence Service Assessment will likely be run by the Union Public Service Commission on 01.11.2015 (SUNDAY) for entrance to the under mentioned Classes:

i) Indian Military Academy, Dehradun 141th Class commencing in July 2016 [including 25 vacancies reserved for NCC ‘C’ Certificate (Army Wing) holders] – 200 vacancies ( Provisional – Offical telling will be outside on 18.7.2015)
ii) Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala class commencing in July 2016 Executive (General Service) (including 06 vacancies reserved for NCC ‘C’ Certificate holders (Naval Wing) – 45 vacancies
ii) Air Force Academy, Hyderabad (Pre-Flying) Training Class commencing in July 2016 i.e. – 32 vacancies
iv) Officers Training Academy, Chennai __SSC Class (for Guys) communing in October 2016- 175 vacancies
v) Officers Training Academy, Chennai 17th SSC Girls (Non Technical) Class commencing October 2016 – 12 vacancies
i) The date of holding the test as stated above is likely to be altered in the discretion of the Commission.
ii) The variety of vacancies given above is provisional and could be altered at any given state by Service Head Quarter.
They need to give OTA as their first and just inclination since girls nominees qualify for OTA only.
If a man candidate is competing for Short Service Commission (Army) just, he should signal OTA as the one and only pick.
Nevertheless, a man nominee competing for brief service commission class at OTA in addition to long-term commission class at IMA, Indian Naval Academy and Air Force Academy should signal OTA as his last taste otherwise OTA is going to be deemed to be the last pick even if it’s given a higher taste by the candidate.

Nationality: A nominees must be:
(i) a Citizen of India, or
(ii) a matter of Bhutan, or
(iii) a matter of Nepal, or
(iv) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before the 1st July, 1962 with the aim of eternally placing in India, or
(v) a person of India origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka and East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire and Ethiopia or Vietnam with the aim of eternally placing in India. Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii),
(iv) and (v) above shall be a man in whose favour a certificate of qualification was issued by the Govt of India.
Certification of qualification will, nevertheless, not be required in the event of nominees who are Gorkha issues of Nepal.
A nominees in whose case a certificate of qualification is essential, could be admitted to the evaluation provisionally subject to the required certification being given to him or her by the Govt. before announcement of result by UPSC.
SEX AND MARITAL STATUS, AGE LIMITS:
i) For Indian Military Academy (IMA): Unmarried male candidates born not later than 1 st and not earlier than 02 nd just are eligible.
ii) For Indian Naval Academy (INA): Single Male candidates born not later than 01 st and not earlier than 2 nd just are eligible.
iii) For Air Force Academy (AFA) – Age: 20 to 24 years as on 01st July 2016 i.e. created not earlier than 02nd July 1992 and not later than 01 July 1996 (Upper age limit for candidates holding valid and current Commercial Pilot Licence issued by DGCA (India) is relaxable upto 26 yrs. i.e.
created not earlier than 02nd July 1990 and not later than 01st July 1996) simply are eligible.
Note: Nominee below 25 years old should not be married
iv) For Officers Training Academy (SSC Class for Guys): Male nominees (married or single) created not earlier than 02nd July 1991 and not later than 01st July 1997 just are eligible.
v) For Officer Training Academy (SSC Girls Non-Specialized Class): Unmarried Women, issueless widows who’ve not remarried and issueless divorces (in possession of divorce records) who haven’t remarried are eligible.
